In this video I am attempting to confront the viewer with the concept of space and the measurement of time. The looping video is a drop of water dripping continuously into a cup.
By leaving the viewer without the expected conclusion of a full or overfilled cup, I challenge the idea of contentment and its definition.
The cup, a reminder of the body and its bodily fluids, attempts to bring a human emotion into a familiar and domestic object. I am interested in the juxtaposition between the cup and the body, and attempt to represent the ticking time in life as eternal in-completion. The cup represents our routines in our daily lives and how we automatically do without questioning. These routines are a universal desire to acquire happiness coming from our instincts to search for fulfillment.
